Terms of Service.

Vorticel is a private AI research assistant for law firms — ask questions across your own documents and get answers grounded in your files, with citations to the exact source passage.

1. Agreement to terms

By creating a Vorticel account or otherwise using the service, your firm agrees to these Terms of Service. If you are accepting these terms on behalf of a law firm or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. The service

Vorticel is a document-search tool. It answers questions using only documents your firm uploads, and cites the source document and page for each claim in its answers. Vorticel does not provide legal advice, and its output is not a substitute for the advice of a licensed attorney.

3. Accounts and plans

Your firm's account is billed according to the plan selected at signup or upgrade. New accounts begin on a 14-day free trial with no card required; continued use after the trial requires selecting a paid plan. Plan limits (seats, documents, storage, and monthly questions) are described on our Pricing page and enforced automatically.

4. Your content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents you upload ("Your Content"). You grant Vorticel only the limited rights necessary to store, process, and search Your Content in order to provide the service to your firm — including the encryption, indexing, and retrieval processes described in our Security & Confidentiality page. Vorticel does not use Your Content to train any AI model.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Vorticel to upload content you do not have the right to upload, to attempt to access another firm's data, to interfere with the service's operation, or to use the service for any unlawful purpose.

6. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from your billing settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your firm's data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." Vorticel makes no warranty that answers are complete or error-free, and your firm remains responsible for independently verifying any information used in the practice of law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vorticel's liability arising from use of the service is limited to the amounts paid by your firm in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to account holders before taking effect.
